West Indies cricket legend Chris Gayle is adding a new title to his name, joining the ownership group of the European T20 Premier League, the first ICC-sanctioned franchise league of its kind in Europe.

Gayle will serve as co-owner of the Glasgow-based franchise, the Glasgow Mugafians, alongside the Mugafi Group and principal owner Tansha Batra.

He is also set to take on a wider role as the league’s global brand ambassador. The tournament is scheduled to run from August 26th  to September 20th  and will feature six teams representing Glasgow, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast, and Rotterdam. A total of 33 matches are planned for the inaugural season. The Amsterdam franchise has ties to Australian great Steve Waugh and hockey star Jamie Dwyer, while Mitchell Marsh is set to lead the side. Belfast includes Glenn Maxwell among its co-owners, and Edinburgh has links to New Zealand players Kyle Mills and Nathan McCullum, with Mitchell Santner named as captain.

With Europe still a developing region for cricket, the league is aiming to tap into new audiences while creating opportunities for emerging talent.

Dancehall legend Bounty Killer is set to receive one of Kingston’s highest civic honours, as the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) moves to formally recognise his towering contribution to Jamaican music and community development.

The resolution, recently passed by the municipal body, will see the veteran deejay awarded the Key to the City of Kingston. At the same time, a road in his community of Seaview Gardens will also be renamed in his honour—a fitting tribute that recognises his legacy both in the cultural landscape and in the community that helped shape him.
